i am one amongst the many Mumbaikars who wish they had a small garden space! with realty rates going north - i wont be surprised if a law that criminalizes use of open space for gardens comes up!
I love pottering about with mud in my hands. But my success rate is inversely proportional to my enthusiasm ;) I did give up for a while..but not for long. This time i decided to give my urges a go ahead - i decided to document them.
My garden in pots - is exactly as the name suggests. I have maybe a 1 ft by 10 ft extended window grill that i dare to call as my garden! it has a mix of plants and pots...mogra,thai basil, show plants, stevia, moneyplants (the regular suspect!). I also collect seeds - from fruits we ate at home or from a visit to the nearby zoo /garden! So now i have a sprouting orchard (Har har!)of mango, sitaphal and a couple of Manjadi ( For Manjadi :http://ayurvedicmedicinalplants.com/index.php?option=com_zoom&Itemid=26&page=view&catid=68&key=20)tree shoots!I have high hopes of planting them in my baba's farm plot.
For starters i have soaked methi seeds and intend to plant them tomm. Of course I am being sniggered at by my family, kaamwali's, birds ...etc!! But mad or not - i am going ahead. will this be another of my failed gardening ventures ? i guess we just have to wait and watch! adios..
